One of the best parts about the Google Clock app is its ability to play from your favorite music apps when your alarm goes off. Unfortunately, many people using Google Clock are being given a rude reawakening due to an issue with the Spotify app causing alarm music to play again shortly after being dismissed.
Over the course of 2019, the Google Clock app picked up the ability to use music from Spotify, Pandora, and YouTube Music as an alarm tone, letting you wake up to your favorite tunes. To do this, Clock connects directly with each music service’s Android app for both searching for music to play and for playing the song(s) when the time is right. https://lawyerrenew577.weebly.com/blog/download-mp3-from-spotify-online-free. An unfortunate effect of this is that sometimes updating your music apps can have unintended consequences, something that those who prefer Spotify have learned all to well this week.
Swipe right from the home screen for apps like exercise, alarm, clock, and third-party apps like Spotify. Spotify integration is a new addition for the Versa 2, but it's limited in two key ways. First, not all Fitbit Versa owners can control your Spotify app on your wrist but Premium subscription required. On iOS, you need a different app called Alarm Clock for Spotify. When you open the app for the first time, you're prompted to login to Spotify using your credentials or a connected Facebook account.
Following a recent update to the Spotify app to version 8.5.43.724, the connection between Spotify and the Google Clock app has gone seemingly haywire. Approximately three minutes after dismissing your alarm, Spotify will spontaneously resume playing music in a stuttering manner. Worse, the Spotify app shows your music as paused, despite this obviously not being the case.
Update 2/10: Spotify seems to have caught on to the issue and has begun rolling out an update to version 8.5.44.941, which — in our testing, at least — fixes the strange problem following a Google Clock alarm. Spotify song from pc wont download to phone. The update is available to download now via the Google Play Store.
I’ve personally witnessed this on my family’s Pixel 3 and 3a, and our Dylan Roussel had this happen on his Pixel 4, already suggesting the issue is widespread. Over on Reddit, “Deedlebagger” has kindly recorded a video of the issue occurring on his own Pixel 3.
Using a spare phone with an outdated version of the Spotify app, I was able to confirm that older versions of Spotify do not see any issues when used for a Google Clock alarm, only the most recent version. Similarly, YouTube Music and Pandora are not affected, which at least means they can be used as a back-up wake-up method while Spotify works out this issue.

HomeTutorials and GuidesHow to set alarms on your smartphone using Spotify music
Is There An Alarm App That Plays Spotify Player
Finding the perfect alarm for your smartphone can be a lot harder than you might think. With the enormous number of choices available, it can even be a little overwhelming. Plus, it’s hard to find a sound that’s pleasing enough to wake up to, but still gets the job done. If you’re the type of person who prefers to wake up with your own music, SpotOn just might be what you’re looking for: an alarm clock that uses the music from Spotify that you choose as an alarm. And we’ll show you just how easy it is to set it up.
Wake up with your favorite songs on Spotify
SpotOn isn’t much different from any alarm app you’ve already seen on Android. Its interface is simple and anyone who’s used to the alarm clock system on Android will find it effortless to get started. To set you alarm, you have to sign in to your Premium Spotify account and then just open the “Wake” tab and tap the first alarm you see.
The new screen that appears is where you get down to the real nitty gritty. When you tap on the time, you can set the exact time you want your alarm to sound, but the real magic happens when you tap the big green button you see: when you tap this button, you’ll have access to your Spotify account where you can select the music that will help you open your eyes in the morning.
You can choose from two different musical options: a playlist (or album) or a specific song. https://lawyerrenew577.weebly.com/spotify-download-over-cellular-iphone.html. If you select the first option, you’ll hear a chosen playlist that you like, while the the song alarm will only last as long as the song you choose. The search feature isn’t quite as good as the official Spotify app, and you’ll have to type out the name of the song if you can’t find it by searching only for the name of the artist you want.
After choosing the music that will sound when your alarm goes off, you’ll have to decide if you want the songs to be shuffled (if you picked a playlist or album) and if you want a fade in effect. You also have more general options like making your smartphone vibrate or not, to show notifications, or for the music to play on another device you have connected through Spotify Connect. Then, all that’s left to do is decide what days of the week you want the alarm to sound and if you want to label it. When you add an alarm, you’ll see the basic info in the main column and you can repeat the same process if you want to create more alarms.
Fall asleep with Spotify music
What’s interesting about SpotOn is that it also has another feature for you to use: the possibility to listen to your music on Spotify for a determined amount of time as you’re falling asleep. The options here are somewhat more basic, since you can only choose from your playlists or ready-made ones from Spotify as you fall asleep. After making your selection, you just have to choose how long the music will play, although the max is 60 minutes. It’s a good option for anyone who falls asleep better with relaxing music playing.
